Frequently Asked Questions

What's a Night Market?

Answer

Night Market Philadelphia is the city’s premier street food festival, a roving event spotlighting Philly’s best ethnic and regional restaurants and food trucks. Inspired by Asia’s lively outdoor markets, our events celebrate up-and-coming neighborhoods and showcase Philadelphia's diverse culinary landscape and vibrant art and culture scene. These events have proven to have a significant economic impact on host communities as well as the city of Philadelphia and the Commonwealth.

Established by The Food Trust in 2010, Night Market Philadelphia is part of The Food Trust’s larger effort to build a local and healthy food economy in the region. Night Markets are festive community gatherings with delicious food and beverages, local arts and live music.

How can I bring Night Market to my neighborhood?

Answer

The formula is simple: a neighborhood commercial corridor with some great local businesses + a willing community partner (community development corporation, business association, etc.) + city approval = Night Market!

We are always looking for new areas to highlight, so if you think your neighborhood is poised for a Night Market, let us know. The best time to reach out is in the fall, so we have ample time to explore opportunities before the season starts each May.
